Apple to Announce Something Today!

July 16th, 2010

Today Apple is holding a media event with respect to the iPhone 4.

There are a lot of people speculating that Steve Jobs will be announcing either a fix for the iPhone 4 antenna problem, a recall of all iPhone 4s to be replaced with fixed units, or a further delay on launches in other countries.

I will report back as soon as I find out what it is they’re going on about!

*UPDATE*

Jobs announced in his meeting with the press that Apple will be supplying free bumpers to all iPhone 4 owners to help with the reception “Death Grip” issue.

Jobs also let it out that the iPhone 4 will be available in Canada on July 30th, so 2 weeks from now people will be lining up at Rogers, Fido, Bell, and Telus stores to buy their brand new toy!

MacBook Bound!

July 11th, 2010

Hi Guys and Gals!

It’s been a few days since I posted anything here so I figured I would write up a quick post while I wait for a new episode of True Blood to start.

I have finally transfered all of my data over to my new MacBook Pro, and am now working solely on a Mac. I felt like it was time to make a total transition from using Windows. Windows has treated me well over the years and was the very first operating system I learned how to use, however I need something different! The blue screens of death, constant memory hogging by applications, and various holes in IE have led me to try something new.

The wedding planning is still going on, and we’ve almost settled on a venue.

JJ and I shared the news of our engagement with her father, her uncle, and her grandparents this evening over dinner and they were genuinely happy for us. I was a little bit nervous as to how they would react, so when they were happy, I was happy.

Work is going well! I really love my job and am finally doing something that I am passionate about, and I love going in each and every day to work on a project that I built from the ground up.

I still really want to vlog more, and need to start making an honest effort to film and upload videos on a regular basis! I’d really love the chance to become a partner to meet and work with some of the other awesome partners on YouTube! They all seem like very cool and like-minded people!

Life is good, and I am extremely happy with how everything is going for me right now. I have a job that I absolutely love, a fiance that I absolutely love, and a life that I can be very proud of!

Hope you all had a fantastic weekend!

Miso: A Product Interview

July 7th, 2010

Miso LogoSo today was my very first product interview with a company called Bazaar Labs who are the creators of the application known as Miso.

Miso is a social television / movie check-in platform similar to the likes of FourSquare, GetGlue, and a few others that are new to the check-in app scene.

I first heard about Miso in an episode of App Judgement, and immediately downloaded it seeing as how I am a TV and Movie fiend!

A month or two later, I received an email for the Miso product management team asking for me to do an interview and talk about the Miso product.

This evening they showed me some drawings of changes that they would like to make to Miso to enhance the user experience and UI which I thought were all absolutely well done!

I really like what Miso has planned, and am trying to get myself into the habit of regularly checking into shows and movies that I watch.

I made a few of my own suggestions to the product manager with respect to the application, and what I would like to see in it and they seemed as though they were genuinely interested in my feedback.

The people at Miso are insanely friendly and were great to talk to! I would love to be able to talk to the developers of quite a few applications, but sometimes there’s just no time!

Thanks to the Miso team for giving me the opportunity to voice my opinion! I can’t wait until you guys make those sketches you showed me a reality!
