Life in a Day

July 22nd, 2010

To anyone wondering what that little number beside the Youtube logo represents, it’s the number of days before you can start filming your footage for a project called Life in a Day.

Life in a Day is a huge collaboration spearheaded by Ridley Scott and Kevin Macdonald to create a feature film out of clips provided by everyday YouTubers. The idea is to submit footage from a day in your life, of which Kevin and Ridley will create a feature film.

So why should you submit footage?

Not only do you have the chance of having your footage used in a feature film, the 20 top contributors to the film will get an expenses paid trip to the Sundance Film Festival next year for the premiere of the film!

More information is available in the video below.

MacBook Bound!

July 11th, 2010

Hi Guys and Gals!

It’s been a few days since I posted anything here so I figured I would write up a quick post while I wait for a new episode of True Blood to start.

I have finally transfered all of my data over to my new MacBook Pro, and am now working solely on a Mac. I felt like it was time to make a total transition from using Windows. Windows has treated me well over the years and was the very first operating system I learned how to use, however I need something different! The blue screens of death, constant memory hogging by applications, and various holes in IE have led me to try something new.

The wedding planning is still going on, and we’ve almost settled on a venue.

JJ and I shared the news of our engagement with her father, her uncle, and her grandparents this evening over dinner and they were genuinely happy for us. I was a little bit nervous as to how they would react, so when they were happy, I was happy.

Work is going well! I really love my job and am finally doing something that I am passionate about, and I love going in each and every day to work on a project that I built from the ground up.

I still really want to vlog more, and need to start making an honest effort to film and upload videos on a regular basis! I’d really love the chance to become a partner to meet and work with some of the other awesome partners on YouTube! They all seem like very cool and like-minded people!

Life is good, and I am extremely happy with how everything is going for me right now. I have a job that I absolutely love, a fiance that I absolutely love, and a life that I can be very proud of!

Hope you all had a fantastic weekend!
